Shimano's SPD-SL Ultegra PD-R8000 was designed for road racing. Its carbon body is ultra lightweight and has a greater contact area to maximize energy transfer efficiency and stability. Its cage is equipped with stainless steel inserts to limit flex. This version of the Ultegra R8000 pedals has 4mm longer axles.
